ATCQ: Midnight Marauders Reworked

If you are a hip hop head you love this classic album.Midnight Marauders, released November 9, 1993 is their third album and it was a critical and commercial success. After more than 20 years, it is considered one of the best album in the hip hop history. I mean, even if you have never listened to it, can you say you have never seen its artwork?This iconic project means a lot to everybody in the music business, rappers have looked up to it, beatmakers have looked up to it, bboy have looked up to it.The perfect mix is reached by the samples and the lyrics that nowadays are still studied by who loves this culture. And this is what a group of worlwide beatmakers have done.The danish beatmaker Kongchain have gathered some of the hottest producers in the underground game and he has decided to pay homage to this classic album.The concept was simple: flip the samples that A Tribe Called Quest used on the original album - and do it creatively for a fresh take on a classic.The help Konchain out, the swedish label Ninetofive Records came into play.The project also features the PRO ERA member Hans SOLO who took part into this amazing homage.Take a listen here and read more about it on the label website
